RB Design Engineer Jason Smith submitted an entry in the Soletanche Freyssinet (SF) innovation awards and was successful in winning a prize.

Jason, who is based at the company’s Derbyshire HQ, designed an interactive house which breaks down to show the piles, caps and beams which RB manufactures for precast house foundations.

Soletanche Freyssinet is the parent company of Roger Bullivant Limited.

No fewer than 212 entries were submitted from across the SF Group, and there were 34 winners.

The 2017 Innovation Awards culminated with the prize-giving ceremony at the Elysées Biarritz auditorium in Paris. More than 160 people were present to cheer on the 34 winning teams.

For almost two hours, the teams followed one another up on stage to present their innovations, the benefits they bring, and how they might be deployed on site, or else shared and used by other subsidiaries within the Group.

As Manuel Peltier, SF Chairman and Chief Executive said:

All these innovations are about men and women, the teams which drive our company forward with their fresh ideas. Bravo to all our ‘serial innovators’. Whether they work in Research & Development or in the field, whatever their profile and their experience, they participate with talent in this dynamic of innovation, this perpetual quest which makes up our enterprise culture.
