University of Dundee appoints RBL’s Chief Geotechnical Engineer as Visiting Industrial Professor in Civil Engineering.

Roger Bullivant Limited (RBL) Chief Geotechnical Engineer, Jon Ball secures a three-year contract with the University of Dundee (UOD) as its new Visiting Industrial Professor in Civil Engineering.  

Jon joined RBL 29 years ago starting his career as a Pile Testing Engineer in 1994 and is currently the company’s Chief Geotechnical Engineer. He is also the Chair of the Federation of Piling Specialist Technical Committee which maintains and extends standards, policy, and developments in ground engineering at a national level.

Over the next three years, Jon will assist the School of Science and Engineering with research, and input to course relevance for employers and will host his first lecture on real-world piling in Autumn/Winter 2023.

His credentials and expertise make him an exemplary asset to both RBL and the University of Dundee, and his is a significant role shaping the future innovations for both institutions at a national and international level. I am sure we will see the development of some great initiatives over the next couple of years.”
