Roger Bullivant Limited (RB) is presented with International Safety Award for protecting its employees from the risk of injury and ill health at work

RB has won an International Safety Award with a Distinction from the British Safety Council in recognition of its commitment to keeping its workers and workplaces healthy and safe during the 2019 calendar year. This is the first time RB have been awarded the British Safety Councils highest award having narrowly missed out on it in 2019.

The award is a reflection of the hard work and commitment shown by all employees towards improving our safety standards and culture over the years. Through 2019 our +People programme really began to build momentum and with the remainder of the business now going through the programme we will only continue to grow and improve further. With over 100 trained safety coaches within the business we are perfectly placed to go beyond zero and eliminate harm all together.

The business has also focused on mental health and how we can best support our employees. The business now has 25 mental health first aiders who are on hand and willing to listen and point people in the right direction if further help is needed and a fantastic employee assistance programme, as a business we should be immensely proud of this.

This award is recognition that we are heading in the right way with our approach to safety, we are an organisation that always puts Safety First, that commitment now has us firmly on the journey towards zero harm and ultimately going beyond zero.

Now in their 62nd year, the International Safety Awards recognise and celebrate organisations from around the world which have demonstrated to the satisfaction of the scheme’s independent judges their commitment to preventing workplace injuries and work-related ill health during the previous calendar year. The awards also recognise organisations that have shown commitment to wellbeing and mental health at work.

Mike Robinson, Chief Executive of the British Safety Council, congratulated RB on their success in winning an International Safety Award 2020 with a Distinction: “The British Safety Council commends Roger Bullivant Limited on their achievement. The award is in recognition of their commitment and efforts to keep their employees and workplaces free of injury and ill health.

“The vision of the British Safety Council is that no-one should be injured or made ill through their work – anywhere in the world. Realising it requires more than legislation; people committed to health and safety, and increasingly also to workplace wellbeing, make it a reality and inspire others to create workplaces that are a key force for good.

“The long list of winners of the International Safety Awards, demonstrates that an increasing number of companies recognise that sensible and proportionate management of health and safety risks is a business enabler, benefiting employees, organisations and society as a whole. By celebrating the achievements of 509 winners of the 2020 International Safety Awards and 62 years of improving health and safety standards around the world, we encourage other organisations to follow their lead and place employees’ health and safety at the heart of their business.”

“Our warmest congratulations to Roger Bullivant Limited. All of those working at RB. should be rightly proud of their achievement.”
